Volunteer Information

ADVENTURE RUNNING KIDS™ NEEDS YOU!

Adventure Running Kids relies on many volunteers to organize and assist with our sessions.  Our volunteer positions are listed below and require the same rough commitment - 1-2 hours per week during the ARK session. All provide the wonderful reward of being involved with the ARK community.

VOLUNTEER ROLES

We are looking for volunteers for all our time slots in every region. Look at the positions below and please get in touch with the local Program Manager if you have any questions or would like to join our wonderful team of volunteers.

Group Coaches (2 volunteers needed per 15 kids)

Group Coach role details.

Group coaches are the backbone of our Adventure Running Kids training evenings.

In a nutshell, group coaches are assigned a group of 10-15 kids, keep them together, take them on a warm up and then run with their group as the kids move through 2 'stations'.

People of all levels of fitness can act as Group Coaches! We need people who can keep up with the fastest kids, but also muster the tail end.

Station Coaches (4-6 volunteers needed per time slot)

Station Coach role details.

Adventure Running Kids runs from a standard training curriculum. Our Station Coaches set up exercises (core and strength, speed and power, endurance and navigation) and deliver the technical programming at each station.

Location Manager (one volunteer needed per time slot)

The most relaxed role! During the hour the program runs, we need someone at the check in location to check in late kids, wait with kids who pull out of the hour for various reasons (feeling sick/tired etc) and watch over the equipment left behind (water bottles, jackets etc).

COACH TRAINING

We know there are a lot of people out there who would to act as coaches with Adventure Running Kids. We have developed a curriculum of training to build and grow our volunteer base skills.

Level 2 Speed, Core & Endurance Station Coach 2 hours, class based or during season as assistant coach
