O-CUP CHASE, CHASE ENDURO, KIDS CHASE
DONTGETLOST ADVENTURE RUNNING YEAR-END PARTY!
The CHASE is race #2 in the 2012-2013 O-Cup.
LOCATION: Camp Canterbury Hills, Ancaster
COURSES: Choose from three different courses:
MAP: Sulphur Springs (1:10,000; 5m contours). The map does not have a legend on it. Print out this legend and bring it with you if you need to familiarize yourself with the symbols.

10:00 Mass start #1 (Kids Chase: 10 and older; O-Cup Handicaps 5, 6)

O-CUP HANDICAP SYSTEM: The O-Cup Chase course uses The Handicap Orienteering And Scoring System (THOMASS). The O-Cup Chase course will feature a box of 7 checkpoints which participants may visit in any order. Participants have the option to skip checkpoints in the box equal to their handicap point total. Handicap points for this year's chase will be awarded as follows:
6 - Women 12 or younger, Men 12 or younger, Women 65 or older
5 - Women 14 or younger, Men 14 or younger, Women 55 or older, Men 75 or older
4 - Women 16 or younger, Men 16 or younger, Women 45 or older, Men 65 or older
3 - Women 19 or younger, Women 35 or older, Men 55 or older
2 - Women 20 to 34, Women ranked in the top 10 in Canada, Men 45 or older
1 - Men 19 or younger, Men 35 or older
0 - Men 20 to 34, Men ranked in the top 10 in Canada
COST: Adults $20, Juniors (-19) $10. 2012 Dontgetlost Adventure Running Adventure Card members and Adventure Running Kids (ARK) coaches and their kids are FREE.
Entry fee includes maps for the, post race snacks and drinks as well as entry fees to both the Dundas Valley Conservation Area and Canterbury Hills. Entry fee does not include tickets for the Dontgetlost Adventure Running Year-End Party. For tickets see info below.
REGISTRATION: Registration closed. In an effort to streamline event procedures and reduce the environmental cost of printing excess maps, we use an online registration system. Participants who do not register online in advance are welcome to come on race day for a $25 entry fee, but please arrive early, as there will only be 10 extra maps available on a first-come, first-served basis. Online registration is open until Thursday Dec. 6, 11:59 p.m. The entry fee also includes a 2012 GHO membership to cover race insurance.
SPORT IDENT CHIP TIMING: Please include your Sport Ident number when registering. If you need to rent a Sport Ident card, select the checkbox on the entry form and you will be charged a $3 rental fee. All Adventure Running Kids (ARK) coaches and ARK Autumn 2012 participants will NOT be charged a rental fee for their timing chip. **Note: The replacement cost for a Sport Ident Type 6 chip is $75.

REQUIRED GEAR: whistle, compass, Sport Ident card (available for rent if you don't already have one).
DONTGETLOST ADVENTURE RUNNING YEAR-END PARTY: $15 for adults and $10 for children. Lunch, awards, presentations, games, music and maybe even some dancing! Please RSVP to Starr Waddington: starrwadd at gmail dot com if you would like to order a ticket. More details coming soon.
DIRECTIONS TO RACE: All races take place at Canterbury Hills Camp in the beautiful Dundas Valley Conservation Area. Parking is limited so please car pool. We have three official parking areas for Adventure Card holders (GHO) and ARK members, officials and others, respectively. The entrance to these parking areas (off of Lion's Club Road) are marked by the numbers 575, 511, and 509 (see map below). Print out the map and follow the purple dashed line to walk from the parking areas to the race HQ. We have rented a large building where participants can leave their clothing while they race.
