Van Dorp and Campbell win 2010 Logs, Rocks and Steel!

Logs Rocks and Steel is advertised as an epic multisport race across the wild terrain of the Haliburton Highlands and with Salomon Dontgetlost.ca Snowshoe Raid organizer as the course planner we know that isn't an overstatement. This year's race once again  was a qualifier into the Speight's Coast to Coast World Multisport Championship in New Zealand. With the adventure racing season winding down many GHO members were taking part including two of our Adventure Running Kids (Milla and Juliette). While details are still coming in we are super excited to announce that GHO members Jack Van Dorp and Barb Campbell won the solo categories at this year's race! Jack won last year's race as well and raced in New Zealand earlier this year. Congratulations!

GHO took home a dozen medals at the Canadian Orienteering Championships in Ottawa this past weekend. Led by double gold and silver medalist Emma Waddington, GHO won a total of three gold medals and took home five medals in the middle and sprint distances and two medals in the long. The races were organized by the Ottawa Orienteering Club and featured some very challenging terrain. The next major event is the Ontario Championships on the Thanksgiving weekend in Hamilton (hosted by GHO).
