INFORMATION UPDATE!
Despite adding over 40 more spots for ARK this autumn as of mid July over 50% of the available spots for our ARK session have been sold. Register soon to avoid disappointment.
Our information night has been tentatively set for September 2nd (6:30-8:30PM) at Adventure Attic in Dundas.
Adventure Running Kids coaches have started planning this autumn's ARK program that kicks off on September 8th at Sanctuary Park in Dundas. Our coaches have some exciting new actitvities planned including our '10 minute run of mud'. OK, maybe not that muddy but every few weeks our athletes will see how far they can run on our adventure run loop that will include the odd hill, perhaps a bridge or two and did we say mud? We are also planning a special final week of each session and are calling it ARK-FEST! ARK-FEST! includes a fun race, post race food, a presentation by a local adventure running athlete and an optional parent's challenge.
OLD PATRICK, NEW PATRICK!
Earlier this summer ARK head coach Patrick Goeres took gold at the North American Sprint Orienteering Championships in Cranbrook, BC. Patrick is now preparing for more summer races including the 5 Peaks trail running series in Alberta and the World Orienteering Championships in Norway. Following those races he has decided to prepare for medical school in western Canada and unfortunately for us will not be returning to Hamilton after his summer of racing and training. However, while we are losing one Patrick we are gaining another!
The new head coach of ARK is Patrick Saile from Australia! Tasmania actually. Should we called him Tas for short? Patrick has many years of experience organizing running and navigation programs for schools and kids in Tasmania. Several of our ARK coaches met with him earlier this summer and he has lots of great new ideas that we think both our ARK athletes and parents will enjoy. More information on these new activities will be sent to parents closer to the start of our autumn session.
