DONTGETLOST ADVENTURE RUNNING
Dontgetlost Adventure Running hosts many outdoor adventures every year including weekly training events in the winter, spring and autumn, several orienteering and adventure running races, adventure racing navigation clinics, and family map and compass clinics.
Dontgetlost Adventure Running (formerly Golden Horseshoe Orienteering) was formed in 2000 from the merger of the Hamilton King's Foresters (HKF) and Niagara orienteering clubs.
HKF was previously the Hamilton Orienteering Association and was founded in 1966. DontGetLost Adventure Running is proud to have its roots as one of North America's oldest orienteering clubs.

Dontgetlost Adventure Running is a not-for-profit volunteer organization with profits from our races going towards athletic development and support and many community events such as the Dundas Valley search and rescue map and our annual Hamilton Schools Adventure Challenge that attracts over 1000 participants. DGL is a member club of both the Ontario Orienteering Association and Orienteering Canada

PROGRAM MANAGER
Although DontGetLost Adventure Running is primarily a volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation, we do have an employee to keep our extensive programming running.
The Program Manager's primary tasks includes administering our Adventure Running Kids program that runs in the Spring and Fall, acting as Race Director for many of our various weekend races, and coordinating volunteers for all our other various programs and races.

Patrick Saile

NCCP Community Coach, Orienteering
O100 (Level 1 Orienteering Official)
CrossFit Level 1
Bachelor of Engineering, University of Tasmania

Program Manager: ARK Hamilton and Niagara.
Race Director: Spring ARK Fest, Raid the City, Traverse the Valley, Raid the Hammer, Icebreaker & Fall ARK Fest.

A native of Hobart, Tasmania (that's part of Australia by the way) we found Patrick living out of a van travelling around Canada.
With his extensive orienteering and coaching experience, he was a perfect fit for the Program Manager role we had recently advertised, 'for a couple of years while on his working holiday visa'.
That was 2010. Since then our Adventure Running Kids program has grown to multiple communities in Southern Ontario, our race calendar has nearly tripled in size and Patrick became a fully fledged Canadian in 2021.
Not content with just adventure flavoured races and kids programs, Patrick can also be found coaching adults at Alchemy Community Fitness in Hamilton.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of volunteers who put in work with DontGetLost Adventure Running. However, this list highlights volunteers who have taken the lead on one or more of our races and programs.
